Katarina Russell was born March 30th, 1999 in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been drawing for most of her life. However, it was observational studies in high school art class where she discovered a love for getting lost in detail. Her current work employs a photorealistic-surrealist style. Katarina graduated Seton Hill University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She has spent the last several years honing her technical skills. This growth has made her more comfortable exploring deeper subject matters like social-political and environmental issues. Her current set of works focus on themes of alienation, self-conflict, and passiveness in relation to global issues like climate change.
